NP’s Statement on 20mph Rollout, RPZs and Downs Parking Schemes

At the Neighbourhood Partnership Meeting on 22 September 2014, concerns were raised by Cllr Goulandris that various erroneous urban myths were being perpetuated to the effect that our NP had been instrumental in supporting the Council’s current rollout of blanket 20mph speed limits, Residents Parking Zones (RPZs) and the proposed parking restrictions on The Downs.

These allegations were refuted and the Minutes of the Meeting record that the NP had acted only in the role of consultee and had not instigated, or endorsed, the introduction of blanket 20mph speed limits, RPZs, or the major parking restrictions proposed for The Downs.
