Statutory Consultation – Proposed Waiting Restrictions around Southmead Hospital

The Council are proposing to introduce a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) for the Southmead Hospital area.
Southmead Parking Props 2When making a TRO, the Authority making the Order must follow the statutory procedure set out in The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, which includes a requirement for consultation with individuals and organisations with a relevant interest and with the general public.

The statutory consultation runs until Monday 18 April 2016 and Site Notices will be erected on street furniture within the vicinity of the proposals. These will be checked and maintained until the period allowed for submission of objections has expired.
The Notices outline the proposals and explain where further details can be obtained. They also set out the procedure to be followed by members of the public who wish to submit objections to the proposed TRO. If objections are received and they cannot be resolved, they will be reported for the consideration of the Service Director Transport, who will decide how the matter is to be taken forward.

All objections to the TRO should be submitted before the Consultation’s closing deadline of Monday 18 April 2016, quoting reference CAE/RGW/P-999.
