Westbury Library – Update

Last October, the Library Service announced that it would hold a series of “engagement” meetings, where each community could put forward their views of what they wanted from their local library and make proposals for the future.

It was later stated that these would take place at six locations, with each having one weekday daytime and one evening or weekend meeting. Details have now been announced and can be seen at www.bristol.gov.uk/libraryideas

A local Meeting, to include Westbury Library, will be held at the Greenway Centre and will cover Southmead, Westbury, Henleaze, Horfield and Lockleaze libraries. The dates for the meetings are Wednesday 6 March from 10am to midday and Saturday 9 March from 10am to midday. Places will have to be booked online. There will also be an online consultation form for those who are unable or do not wish to attend a meeting.

Westbury Library Group will be providing more information on their website at www.westburylibrarygroup.org/ and at their Library Coffee Mornings on Saturday 19 January and Saturday 16 February. As always, it is important that the community makes its views heard, so please take part either in person or online.
